Parkwood Scholarships for Academic Excellence

Overview

The vision and philosophy of the school management is to provide a fair opportunity to students who excel in academics and/or sports. In this direction, the school extends Merit Scholarships to students who can prove their excellence in academics. Although these grants are liberally available to the meritorious or deserving cases, there is an overall budget within which the system functions. The School appointed committee is the final and binding authority in deciding upon the extent to which these grants can be disbursed to the applicants.

Eligibility for Scholarship Test

  • The Merit Scholarships are open to students seeking entry to Grades 5 to 11
  • Applicants must display excellence in academics and curricular activities to be considered for a Merit Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a test conducted by the School

Extent of Benefit

The Merit Scholarships are granted in the slabs of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the Annual School Fee.

How to Apply

Applicants who wish to apply for the Parkwood Merit Scholarship of Academic Excellence should attach a separate request letter while submitting the Admission Application Form and the Registration Fee.

Financial Aid Benefits

Overview

Financial Aid is granted to students whose parents are unable to afford the fee of the school due to financial constraints. Financial Aid is available under certain conditions to parents who can prove their need for the endowment. Although these grants are liberally available to the meritorious or deserving cases, there is an overall budget within which the system functions. The FA Committee of the School is the final and binding authority to decide the awarding of the Financial Aid and the extent to which these grants can be disbursed to the applicants.

Extent of Benefit

The slabs for the Financial Aid are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the Annual School Fee, based upon need and merit. The grant of such financial support will be for an initial period of 2 academic years. Continued benefit of Financial Aid thereafter will be subject to review and renewed/denied based upon the fresh documentary evidence submitted by the parent and the academic/disciplinary performance of the student in the preceding years at Parkwood.

How to Apply

Parents who wish to seek Financial Aid are required to first confirm the admission of their ward through the Provisional Letter of Admission in the normal process of admission and then apply for the Financial Aid by filling in the FA Form, which is available upon request. Parents are required to convincingly prove the need for such an aid; hence the FA Form must be supported by complete documentary evidence (photocopies only), wherever applicable. The FA committee screens the applications on the merit of each case and if convinced of the Financial Aid need by the documentation submitted and the past performance of the student, will decide upon the level of grant.

The Merit Scholarship or Financial Aid granted will be for an initial period of two academic years and subject to renewal thereafter till the student appears for the first board examination or Grade 10, whichever is earlier. However, the school has a complete and unquestionable right to withdraw all grants if it finds that the student is not meeting the expected/acceptable levels of conduct, behaviour and academics. It is also important for the parent(s) to comply fully with all the school rules and regulations at all times. In case the parent(s) and/or the student do not meet the required levels of compliance, the school reserves the complete right to revoke the benefits retrospectively from the commencement of that Academic Year. In such a case, parents will be required to immediately fulfill their financial obligations for that Academic Year as would be applicable to a normal full-fee paying student or withdraw their ward from the school immediately.

Benefits for Defence Personnel

A 50% concession in Annual School Fee is available to a limited number of students under the category of “Children of Serving Defence Personnel”.

Please contact the school on its availability and other conditions.
