Specific Circular to Parents of Grade 6 Students

Option of Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP) - Grade 7 Level
Academic Year 2010-11

The Students of Grade 6 moving onto Grade 7 in the Academic Year 2010-2011 have the choice of selecting their stream between the University of Cambridge’s Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP) and the CBSE.

Since you are a parent who has to take this decision soon on the choice of stream applicable from June 2010 for your ward, this circular gives you a few details of both the streams.

The CLSP has been developed by the University of Cambridge as a 2-year programme for students of Grades 7 & 8. This prepares them in making a smooth transition to the 2-year IGCSE certificate at Grades 9 and 10. In addition, CLSP offers an external, international benchmark of student achievement by evaluating them in the core skills of English, Mathematics and Science by the University of Cambridge.

To help you take the right decision, the following subjects are offered under the CBSE & CLSP curricula for Grades 7 and 8

Please refer to the school website www.parkwoodschool.com for details on applicable fees.

Since, your ward is presently in Grade 6, you will be required to inform the school of your choice of stream (CBSE or CLSP) by 28-Feb-2010 (The size of a class in Parkwood is limited to 20. Hence, the allocation of seats will be on a first-come-first-served basis). If you would like a further discussion on this, please schedule an appointment by sending an email to info@parkwoodschool.com or calling Ms.Indira at the school campus.

If we do not hear from you by this date, it will be assumed that your child will continue in the CBSE stream.

Best wishes,

Director
